He National consumer price index showed a 0.21% increase compared to the previous fortnight, the National Institute of Statistics and Geography reported this Monday. Thus, the general inflation reached 4.78%a result higher than the previous fortnightof 4.59%.
Core inflation, which excludes the most volatile prices of the index, continued its deceleration, with a variation of 0.17% fortnightly and 4.17% at an annual rate.
The non-core index rose 0.34% fortnightly, to reach an annual growth rate of 6.73%.
Within the non-core index, at a biweekly rate, the prices of agricultural products rose 0.56%, and those of energy and tariffs authorized by the government, 0.13%.
It stands out that, within the non-core index, the prices of fruits and vegetables grew 17.28% in their annual comparison.
In the first half of June 2024, the #inflation general annual rate was 4.78%. The National Consumer Price Index #INPC increased 0.21% at a biweekly rate.
