Indonesia sends humanitarian aid to Turkey earthquake victims

The Indonesian Government has dispatched humanitarian aid for the victims of the earthquake in Turkey at the Operations Base of the Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport on February 11.

Two Boeing 737 aircraft carried joint staff from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defence.

A C-130 Hercules aircraft transported relief supplies that included Media Urban SAR (MUSAR) logistics and an Emergency Medical Team (EMT).

This aid was delivered by the Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, Muhadjir Effendy, accompanied by the Defense Minister, Prabowo Subianto, the Health Minister, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, the TNI Commander, Yudo Margono, the Head of Basarnas, Henri Alfiandi, and the Director General of Protocol and Consular Affairs, Andy Rachmianto, representing the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The assistance is part of the Indonesian government’s commitment to provide humanitarian aid to Turkey. The task of assistance is to directly assess the conditions on the ground and ensure preparations for the arrival of humanitarian aid, which will be delivered in several batches.
