Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, will board on a series of official visits to the United States and Egypt from June 20-25, 2023.

The first part of the visit will take the Indian Prime Minister to US soil, where he has been invited by President Joe Biden.

The visit will begin in New York, where Narendra Modi will lead the International Yoga Day celebrations at United Nations Headquarters on June 21, the date thus proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in December 2014.

Later, Modi will travel to Washington DC, where he will be welcomed with a welcome ceremony at the White House on June 22 and will hold a high-level dialogue with Biden.

As a major milestone during his visit to the United States, Modi will be invited to address a joint session of the US Congress on June 22. This invitation was extended by congressional leaders, including House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer.

In addition to official engagements, the Indian Prime Minister is scheduled to interact with prominent CEOs, professionals and other stakeholders. He will also meet with the Indian community in the United States.

Following his visit to the United States, Modi will travel to Cairo, Egypt for a state visit on June 24-25. This visit is at the invitation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and marks the prime minister’s first visit to Egypt.

During his stay, Modi will hold talks with President El-Sisi and engage in interactions with senior Egyptian government dignitaries and prominent Egyptian personalities.

He is also expected to meet with the Indian community in Egypt. India-Egypt relations are based on longstanding trade, economic and cultural ties, and the visit seeks to further strengthen these ties.

During President El-Sisi’s state visit to India in January 2023, both nations agreed to upgrade their relationship to a “Strategic Partnership”, demonstrating the commitment to strengthen bilateral ties in various fields.
