Indian forces kill three 'terrorists' after 'infiltration' attempt in Kashmir

15 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Indian Army has announced the death of three “terrorists” following an “infiltration attempt” into its territory across the Line of Control in the Kashmir region, disputed between India and Pakistan, without any details yet on the group to which the suspects belonged.

The Indian Army’s Chinar Corps has said in a message posted on its social media account X that “three terrorists have been eliminated in an operation against infiltration in the Keran sector of the LoC.”

He also stressed that Indian forces had managed to seize weapons during the operation, which is still ongoing. The incident took place less than a week after the death of five soldiers in an attack on a patrol in Badnota, located in the same region.

Kashmir has been a disputed region between India and Pakistan since 1947. The two countries, which accuse each other of supporting various armed groups, have fought over it in two of the three wars they have fought since their independence from the United Kingdom. In 1999 there was a brief but intense military confrontation between the two nuclear powers and a fragile truce has been maintained since 2003.
