Panamanian authorities receive with honors Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip upon their arrival at the Panama Canal on November 29, 1953. It was the first visit of the nomarch to American territory.  Officials and diplomats from the host country and the UK attended his arrival.

During her 70-year reign, Queen Elizabeth II of England visited the region nine times on state visits, the first in 1953 to Panama and the last to the United States in 2007.
