The Administrator of the Resources of the General Health Social Security System (Adres) reported that During October 2024, it transferred $7.13 billion to finance the medical care of those affiliated with the health system in Colombiadistributed between the contributory and subsidized regimes.

Of the total, $3.48 billion was allocated to the subsidized regime, of which $2.59 billion were transferred directly to 3,233 Health Providing Institutions (IPS) and service and technology providers. While $787,000 million were transferred to the Health Promotion Entities (EPS).
For its part, The contributory regime received $3.65 billion, of which $2.23 billion was sent directly to 2,684 IPS and suppliersand $1.41 billion was allocated to the EPS.

Additionally, the Adres disbursed $142,000 million to recognize disabilities due to general illness, nearly $46,000 million for promotion and prevention activities, and approximately $114,000 million to cover maternity, paternity, and guardianship rulings reported by the EPS. These resources include 12,120 maternity leaves, 7,467 paternity leaves and 153 court rulings.
It should be noted that, in October, Adres transferred $4.82 billion directly to 3,510 clinics, hospitals and health providers nominated by the EPS. “This direct transfer scheme seeks to guarantee greater transparency and efficiency in the use of health system resources,” they say.

ANDBetween January and October 2024, these direct transfers reached $38.40 billionwhich represents an increase of 114.90% compared to the same period in 2023, when the figure was $17.87 trillion.

According to the data, The Colombian Family Subsidy Fund (Colsubsidio) leads with an amount of $1.56 billion, representing 4.08% of the total transferred. This is followed by Cruz Verde Drugstores and Pharmacies, with $867,881 million, equivalent to 2.26% of the total. For its part, Clínica Colsanitas SA received $734,256 million, with a participation of 1.91%.
