Colombian Justice has handed down 214 convictions for corruption in 2022, in legal proceedings with which it has managed to recover 110,000 million pesos of the public coffers that were in the hands of individuals, according to a balance of the Prosecutor’s Office.

These are results for 19 crimes related to corruption, such as embezzlement, prevarication, bribery or contracts without legal compliance that “They revealed various irregular recruitment maneuvers and illegal actions deployed to appropriate public resources”the prosecution body said in a statement.
In this way, 177 people were charged throughout the year for crimes related to corruption and, in addition to the 214 convictions, there are 796 processes in the trial stage open.
