() — The Islamabad High Court has granted former Prime Minister Imran Khan free on bail, days after his dramatic arrest on corruption charges sparked a deadly wave of anger at the country’s military.
A judge at the capital’s High Court on Friday ordered Khan’s temporary release for two weeks.
“I am 100% sure that they will arrest me again. The NAB has allowed me to speak to my wife, there are also arrest warrants against her,” Khan told as he left the court before the hearing.
This comes a day after Pakistan’s Supreme Court ruled that Khan’s detention on Tuesday by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was unlawful.
Khan’s party had filed a petition to challenge allegations of illegal land acquisition leveled against him by the NBI.
