Immortals of Aveum puts players in the shoes of Jak, a magnus whose newfound potential drags him into the Perpetual War, the endless conflict of the human species for control of magic. All of Aveum’s magic can be channeled into three forms: blue force magic, red chaos magic, and green life magic. Each of them is used in different ways and works in unique ways. Most magni can only control one color of magic, but triarchs like Jak can use all three.
As you progress through the game’s story, you’ll gain access to sigils, items, and spells that allow you to experiment and play in different ways. “Whether you want to be a Swiss army knife or specialize in just one color of magic, there’s no wrong way to play,” Ascendant Studios says. Players can use different spells in combos and should be aware that some forms of magic are more effective against certain targets.
The main tool is sigils. There are unique sigils for each color of magic, and three different variants of each sigil within these. These variants work differently depending on the spell type, rate of fire, amount of damage, range, and ammo capacity. Each color of magic is tailored to a particular combat style: red sigils are best for melee combat and burst attacks; blue sigils are long-range to deal precision damage; and green sigils provide rapid fire for combat on the move.
In addition to upgradable stealths, Immortals of Aveum includes 25 spells and over 80 unlockable talents in the talent tree. Each branch of the tree focuses on one of three colors of magic, so players can specialize or go for a generalized playstyle. In case you want to change, talent points are reallocated by visiting a forge. Sigils, Totems, Rings, and Wristbands are also purchased and upgraded on these sites. They all have unique properties that will improve stats.
