The Latin American and Caribbean Institute for Economic and Social Planning (ILPES) of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) was created in 1962, under the Executive Secretariat of Raúl Prebisch, based on three main objectives: o Expand knowledge theoreticians on planning of public officials through training programs and technical assistance in the field o Accompany the countries in the institutional and technical organization for the economic and social development policy, and/or Technical support to the countries in the elaboration of their plans development The achievement of these objectives is achieved through three modalities that are implemented to date: technical advice, training and applied research.
