If you use Windows 10, forget about WiFi 7: Microsoft reserves it for "most important things"

Microsoft has announced the devices that will be compatible with WiFi 7 and has named several versions of Windows 11, but everything indicates that Windows 10 will be left out.

WiFi 7 has made it possible to reach a speed never seen before among compatible devices and routers. Users dreamed of it reaching all versions of the operating system, but Microsoft has confirmed that many computers will be left out.

Ultra-fast wireless speeds will arrive starting with the next Windows 11 24H2 update. This version is available for PC Copilot+, but will reach all users in October this year.

A Microsoft report analyzed by Windows Latest confirms that the current version of Windows 11 and Windows 10 devices will not be able to have WiFi 7, for the moment.

This does not mean that the company will not end up bringing this technology to previous versions. Microsoft could use Windows 11 24H2 as the testing space before bringing WiFi 7 to versions like Windows 11 23H2.

Windows 10 did not have WiFi 6E and possibly will not have WiFi 7

Everything indicates that Windows 10 users will not be able to enjoy the faster connection of WiFi 7. The announcement does not mention this operating system, so it is possible that the history of WiFi 6E will be repeated: the versions that do not appear in the documentthey will not have this technology in the future.

Windows 10 devices did not support WiFi 6E, so Microsoft did not ship this support. If nothing changes, the new standard would not be compatible either, so many users are beginning to rule out this option.

Microsoft has not explicitly indicated that Windows 10 will not receive WiFi 7, although it is only mentioning versions of Windows 11. It is still early to rule out the ultra-fast connection, but everything indicates that the company is not working on compatibility with the operating system.

Windows 10 ended up receiving WiFi 6E due to a bug with an Intel driver that added support, but that system has other bugs that make it unsafe to use. Intel has learned from this mistake and it will not be repeated.
