IDF suspends soldier for helping settler throw grenades at Palestinians

Oct. 25 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Israeli Army on Tuesday suspended an Israeli soldier who helped a settler in the Har Bracha settlement, near Nablus, throw grenades at Palestinian protesters as part of clashes over the olive harvest.

The footage, recorded by the Yesh Din human rights group, shows an Israeli settler handing a grenade to a soldier for safekeeping. The settlement security coordinator holds the device in his hands, pointing his gun at Palestinian protesters until the settler returns for it.

“Following an initial investigation into the conduct of the rabbi of the Barache settlement who participated in the clashes between settlers and Palestinians, near the village of Burin last Friday, October 21, 2022, it was decided yesterday to suspend him from his post,” he said. Israel Army on its official Twitter profile.

The IDF has reported the destruction of an explosives laboratory in Nablus early this Tuesday, an operation that has caused clashes that have resulted in at least six deaths and twenty wounded.

Violence in the West Bank has increased in recent hours. A 55-year-old Israeli man has been stabbed in the village of al-Funduq, in the West Bank, after leaving a store in the Palestinian village, according to the newspaper ‘The Times of Israel’.
