I ‘wouldn’t exist’ if Uma Thurman didn’t have an abortion

Maya Hawke got personal about her mother Uma Thurman’s past abortion.

The 23-year-old, whose father is Ethan Hawke, opened up about the “Pulp Fiction” star’s journey of fatherhood Tuesday during an appearance on “Tonight’s Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

Maya spoke about the recent decision of the Supreme Court of void Roe Vs Wade, and slammed the result.

The “Stranger Things” star also expressed how to touch Thurman’s skin 2021 opinion piece in “The Washington Post” was, in which she opened up about having an abortion as a teenager.

Regarding Roe vs. Wade, Maya told Fallon: “[I] I called my mom for advice today about coming over to talk to you.”

“We just talked about the Supreme Court ruling and this essay that my mother wrote a couple of months ago when they were putting these additional restrictions on access to abortion, kind of like before all of this,” she added.

Maya said her parents’ lives would have been thrown off course if the “Kill Bill” actress had chosen a different path.

“My mom wrote this really beautiful essay about the abortion she had when she was very young and how if she hadn’t had it, she wouldn’t have become the person she did, and I wouldn’t exist. Maya revealed.

“My parents’ lives would have been derailed if she hadn’t had access to safe, legal health care — essential health care,” she continued.

The New York City native explained that although “rich people will always be able to have abortions,” the Supreme Court’s ruling would affect the lives of other people who “not only won’t be able to pursue their dreams, but they will lose their lives.”

“So I just wanted to say, screw the Supreme Court. But we are going to keep fighting and we are going to win, like our grandmothers did,” Maya declared.

In the op-ed, Thurman admitted her “darkest secret,” saying she had an abortion in her “late teens.”

She wrote at the time that she hopes that by writing this article, she wants “some light to shine, reaching women and girls who may feel ashamed of not being able to protect themselves and who have no agency.”
