Naughty Dog started the year with everything. Despite the rumors surrounding a new main iteration in the universe of The Last of Usseries creator and Naughty Dog co-chairman Neil Druckmann has not confirmed the project, instead urging fans to stay away from the rumors.
However, the creative has just appeared in an interview with The Hollywood Reporterin which he himself insinuated that The Last of Us: Part III it will happen sooner or later. This would be so because he believes “there is more story to tell” in the franchise.

Will history repeat itself The Last of Us: Part III?
Those who are long-standing fans of The Last of Us, you will remember that after the enormous success of the original installment, the community never stopped wondering if Naughty Dog would work on a sequel. In the same way, Druckmann did not confirm or refute anything initially, but over time the new delivery was confirmed.
