BUDAPEST, July 16 (DPA/EP) –
The Government of Hungary has announced that it will allocate more resources to control its border after denouncing a new wave of immigration from the Balkans.
Specifically, the government of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán intends to raise the height of the wire fence erected in 2015 along its borders with Serbia, 150 kilometers long, by one meter.
It will also build a new fence in the Danube-Drava National Park, in the south of the country and on the border with Serbia and Croatia.
It will also hire 2,000 more guards to replace the police and military that are now guarding the border, according to the Hungarian official bulletin published on Friday.
