Chinese telecom giant Huawei plans to develop 50,000 information and communication technology (ICT) talents in South Asia over the next five years.
The strategy will include various programs such as the creation of ICT academies, different ICT and startup contests, enrollment in online courses, and hiring new employees.
The announcement was made at the event “Building a Smart Talent Ecosystem, In South Asia, For South Asia” (Creation of a smart talent ecosystem, in South Asia, for South Asia), held on Monday at its representative office for Asia South, in the capital of Bangladesh.

The Dhaka office aims to support the region more attentively and create better value for customers, partners and ecosystem.
Huawei has developed more than 6,000 ICT talents in South Asia last year. “And now this company has a plan to develop 50,000 new ICT talents in the next five years,” the Chinese company said in a statement.
