HSBC achieves an alliance with Ocesa to place more credit cards

The idea is that the bank’s customers not only have access to the pre-sale of the concerts with months without interest, but that within the events they can pay with their card and access other promotions, says Jorge Jáuregui, executive director of media, in an interview. of payment and acquirer of HSBC Mexico.

“We have a five-year structural agreement with Ocesa and this will allow us to present a very significant number of musical concerts each year”, he says.

But, how has HSBC managed to take the market away from Banamex, which was the leading bank in pre-sales? Jáuregui comments that this is possible due to the demand and growth rate of massive events that is increasing at double digits: “The sector has space for more players”, he assures.

In 2019, before the pandemic, around 420 concerts were held with 4.5 million tickets sold, while in 2022 there were close to 490 massive events and 9 million tickets.

The first regional music festival, which will take place next September, is not just about choosing the number one on the Spotify playlists, it was the result of market analysis and consultation with HSBC clients. In the spotify trending music list In the country, artists such as Armed Link, Featherweight, Junior H, Grupo Frontera and Yng Lvcas.

“We did a very deep market study to make this festival. The Giddy Up it was carefully planned last year and there are so many artists in this genre that of course there is room to do another one, this is not a fad: regional Mexican music is at its best, it deserved a festival and we did it. It is not a fashion, we see it as something permanent. There is a demand to do this outside of Mexico,” says Jáuregui.

It is expected that there will be sold out in the pre-sale of this festival and that the demand is so strong that the event will be repeated the following year. Even, the demand for these artists abroad is already being evaluated. “We want to start with Mexico and then, if there is demand, we do not rule out doing it in other latitudes,” he adds.

The bank has already made pre-sales for artists such as Arctic Monkeys, Maná, Café Tacvba, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Alicia Keys, Nodal, Rauw Alejandro, Intocable, Lagos and Camilo Septimo.

What is the Arre festival?

It is the first two-day regional Mexican music festival to be held on September 9 and 10. The Arre HSBC will have more than 40 artists such as Featherweight, Natanael Cano, Fuerza Regida, Edén Muñoz, La Arrolladora Banda El Limón, among others.

“It’s two whole days, we believe it can reach 150,000 people or a little more. It’s not just the financial aspects of an event, (it’s) the bond that can be generated with clients, the link for having truly differentiated benefits,” he says. Jauregui.

The festival will be held at the Hermanos Rodríguez Autodrome and there will be promotions for bank customers such as cashback.
