HP has presented the news of its brands of equipment and accessories ‘gaming’, OMEN, HyperX and Victus, which include laptops, monitors and headphones for content creators, casual gamers and ‘streamers’.
The ‘gaming’ industry in Spain moves more than 250 million euros a year, only with regard to devices such as desktops and laptops, leaving aside screens and accessories, as pointed out by the person in charge of Personal Consumer Systems at HP, Oscar Gomez.
It is a market that has grown in the last twelve months, according to data from the GFK consultancy, although it has done so by barely 2 percent, and which now represents almost 25 percent of the total turnover in the computing market. And HP led “clearly” in 2022, with a 26.8 percent market share.
In this context, this Tuesday the technology company has presented its new products, emphasizing the fact that “we are all gamers”, and for this reason its “priority is to develop ‘gaming’ solutions that adapt to any type of player”. , from the most casual to the creator of content, as expressed by the head of development of the Gaming business of HP Spain, Beatriz del Valle.
The line of laptops has been updated with the new OMEN Transcend 16 (2,499 euros), a computer with high-end internal components and a magnesium structure, which makes it light (less than 2.1kg) and thin (19.9mm ).
It is powered by a 13th Gen Intel Core i9-13900HX processor and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, along with a long-lasting 97Wh battery. Its 16-inch screen is the first to use a miniLED panel in the OMEN range, and offers HDR 10007 technology, a maximum brightness of 1,180 nits and a 240Hz refresh rate, in a 16:10 format.
Optimize CPU and GPU power usage with OMEN Dynamic Power inside the OMEN Gaming Hub, and prevent overheating with the OMEN Tempest cooling system and square fan design.
HP has also announced the new generation of the OMEN 16 laptop (from 1,399 euros) for the most demanding gamers. It is equipped with a 13th generation Intel Core i9-13900HX processor or an AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS11 processor, as well as a GPU up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 and a QHD display up to 240Hz with a response time of 3ms.
Both OMEN Transcend 16 and OMEN 16 support up to 32GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM and 2TB of PCIe* Gen4 NVMe TLC M.2 SSD storage, and feature an FHD camera with a manual tab to ensure security.
For players who are starting out in the world of ‘gaming’, the company has also presented Victus 16 (from 1,199 euros), a laptop that incorporates the OMEN Tempest cooling solution -in certain models-, as well as an IR thermopile sensor to manage temperatures and prevent it from overheating.
Victus 16 is powered by up to 13th Gen Intel Core i7-13700HX processors or up to an AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS11 processor, while graphics options include up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX Laptop 4070 GPU.
ECOSYSTEM OF ACCESSORIES
HP’s ecosystem of ‘gaming’ products includes Cloud III headsets with cross-platform compatibility. The latter offer immersive audio with 53mm angular drivers and DTS Headphone:X1 technology for precise 3D audio.
The Cloud III also includes a 10mm noise-canceling microphone with an internal metal mesh pop filter, 3.5mm, USB-C and USB-A connectors, and an adapter that provides USB-C and USB-A connectivity.
The new line of OMEN monitors from HP presents the OMEN 27k (in summer, from 629 euros) for ‘gaming’ as its flagship model, which adds compatibility with HDMI 2.1, which allows you to play on next-generation consoles. It also incorporates OMEN’s first KVM switch, allowing you to control multiple devices, be it a PC, laptop or console, via a keyboard, monitor and mouse.
The OMEN 27k also offers 4K resolution, up to 95% DCI-P3 color gamut, a 144Hz refresh rate, and ARGB lighting.
The monitors for ‘gaming’ OMEN 24 (199 euros), OMEN 27 (219 euros), OMEN 27q (299 euros), OMEN 32q (summer, 349 euros) and OMEN 32c (349 euros) include the industry standard refresh rate 165Hz and ‘Plug and Play’ connectivity. The OMEN 27s (Summer, $399) and OMEN 27qs ($449) monitors raise the refresh rate up to 240Hz while the OMEN 34c ($449) features a 1500r curved display with a 21:98 aspect ratio. All incorporate a stand with height, tilt and swivel adjustment.
OMEN GAMING HUB
HP has also added new features to the OMEN Gaming Hub platform, starting with processor core affinity optimization within OMEN Optimizer, which improves FPS experience by up to 10 percent.
The addition of ECO mode increases battery life by up to 20 percent and reduces fan noise by up to 7dB on OMEN and Victus laptops.
