How to travel on frozen surfaces in Fortnite Chapter 4

Locations where you can meet the Fortnite challenges

The snow/ice biome in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 is one of the most picturesque places. While Winterfest 2023 is a long way off, the developers want players to enjoy the biome while it lasts. Loopers are currently tasked with traveling over frozen surfaces for a total of 2,500 meters. Here we tell you how to do it without so much delay.

The easiest way to complete this challenge is to walk on ice and slip/slide a bit. However, keep in mind that when you are on ice, it becomes difficult to control the movement of the character. Mixing buttons/arrow keys won’t help much. It is best to attempt the ice run when the area is far from the battle bus route or after surveying the area.

Frozen Zone Locations

Locations where you can meet the Fortnite challenges

If walking like a penguin on ice isn’t your style of choice, there’s always the option of using wildlife. Can tame boars and wolves to later use them in your journeys over frozen surfaces. Remember to bring some fruits/vegetables and/or meat to keep your mount well fed and nourished.

The other option is vehicles. While not entirely optimized for the snow/ice biome, they are the fastest way to complete this challenge as long as there is gas in the tank. Four types of vehicles can be found in this frigid landscape: Mudflap, Bear, Prevalent and Trail Thrasher. From the start, it’s best to avoid driving a Mudflap. These trucks are slow and will make completing the challenge tedious.

Despite the entire biome being covered in snow and ice, there are only a handful of places where much of the landscape is frozen surfaces:

  • Icy Islets
  • Around Brutal Bastion
  • In and around Solitary Shrine
  • Inside Cold Cavern
  • gusty gorge

Of all these landmarks and locations, Icy Islets offer the most frozen surface area to traverse.
