How to remove advertising from my Xiaomi?

The MIUI ad service is courtesy of the “msa” application, which cannot be permanently removed from devices, but can be restricted.

From the application manager

To start this process you have to go to the device settings and select the “Applications” section.

Once inside you will have to go to the application manager and search for the “msa” application.

You have to enter the app and deactivate the “show notifications” option.

Revoke authorization

There are devices where searching for “msa” in the application manager will not be fruitful, but it is still possible to restrict it through another channel. This option can also be activated even if it was found in the previous step.

To do this, from the settings you have to go to the “Passwords and security” section.

Once inside, the option to choose is “Authorization and cancellation”. It may also appear as “Authorization and revocation.”

A list of functions that have authorization will be displayed. You have to deactivate the “msa”.

From the home screen

To prevent the launcher show suggestions on the home screen, again you have to go to the settings section.

Select the “Home Screen” option and scroll to the end of the list. There you have to deactivate the “Show suggestions” option.

Downloads, cleaning, themes and more

For downloaded files, go to the downloads app and select settings. There you just have to disable the “Show recommended content” option.

Same for the security app, where you can access device cleaning mode. Within the app you have to go to the settings and click on the “Receive recommendations” option.

In the case of the theme application, go to your profile and settings. The option to uncheck in this case is “Show ads”.

You can follow these same steps for other applications on your computer such as music.

Privacy

Finally, from the general phone settings, go to the “Passwords and security” section.

Once inside, select “Privacy”. There you will find the “Privacy Services” option, enter or deactivate the “Personalized advertising recommendations” option.
