The brand specialized in movement improvement products Hyperice offers different categories aimed at speeding up the recovery of athletes, among which wireless massage devices stand out. Hypervolt and the Normatec 3 compression boots.

The company develops equipment that relieves tension and unlocks muscles after physical activity. Its catalogue, therefore, is made up of different product lines that are distinguished from each other by their mechanism: percussion, compression, vibration and heat application.

This is how their products are divided into different categories. The line hypervolt, For example, it provides percussive massages to break up muscle knots and reduce muscle fatigue. The line Normatecon the other hand, is made up of dynamic air compression models to accelerate recovery after activity and increase circulation.

Venom, on the other hand, is the category that incorporates heat and massage garments to relieve pain and discomfort, eliminate stress and maintain range of motion. Finally, the line Vyper and Hypersphere offers products intended for vibration massage to accelerate the warm-up of large muscle groups, as well as locate areas of tension.

At Portaltic we have been able to test three of these products, included in two of its different categories. We have done it after participating in the Rock’n’Roll Running Series race in Madrid – more specifically, in the 10K modality – and we have come to the conclusion that recovery It has been faster than on other occasions.

Given the circumstances, we have used products for the legs, although many of them can be used for other parts of the body, as is the case with the Hypervolt and Venom massagers. The latter, for example, includes a back belt and a shoulder band.

Firstly, we have used the Normatec 3 compression boots, which introduce up to 7 levels of dynamic air compression and promote blood circulation in the lower extremities, to recover muscles after effort. In addition, it reduces inflammation in this part of the body if they are overloaded.

Fully covering the legs from the top of the thigh to the feet, these zip-up boots offer precise treatment by employing biomimetics to replicate the natural muscle pump and one-way valves in the legs.

Likewise, Normatec 3 introduce ZoneBoost technology to offer additional attention to specific areas of the body, helping lymphatic drainage, which translates into less annoying or painful recovery after competition. They are controlled from a compact unit, which weighs 1.4 kg and has a three-hour battery life; and this, in turn, connects to the brand’s application via Bluetoothto program the usage time.

The overall experience is good and comfortable, since we only need 15 free minutes to use these boots. It is also not necessary to control the remote control, so you can set a timer and the desired pressure levels, so that the device can be used while reading a book or checking your cell phone.

For Hypervolt 2 Pro We do need hands or, at least, one of them. It is a wireless percussion massager that promises to relieve tense muscles so you can train more intensely and recover more quickly. It promotes local vascularization and provides the necessary oxygen and nutrients to the muscles.

Shaped like a pistol and weighing 1.2 kilograms, the device comes with an oval grip for ease of use and a digital dial located on the back, which displays a control box to enter one of the five available percussion speeds. . It also incorporates a battery with up to three hours of autonomy when fully charged and a motor of up to 90W power.

During testing, we combined this product with Normatec Lower Legs. With this treatment, we seek to recover both the quadriceps and adductors as well as the calves, to increase circulation and reduce pain and tension in the legs.

This device, also portable, works on the lower part of the leg using the percussion technique and can be used in any situation, whether we are standing or sitting at the desk, because it introduces a band that surrounds with velcro this part of the body.

With seven levels, which also go from lowest to highest pressure – we tried 6 because we had this part of the legs very loaded -, it includes a control unit in each of them, with HyperSync technology to Synchronized use of both accessories. Likewise, it charges with USB-C.

With the use of this trio of devices we have had the impression of going through a faster recovery process despite having the beginning of tibial periostitis, that is, an overload in the middle part of the tibia, which has disappeared as we have applied cold and spent time resting.

We have, however, noticed minor discomfort from the knee up. Unlike other races, in which we have had typical soreness in this part of the leg, this time we have hardly felt anything, which would be due to the Hyperice products that we have tried. Especially Hypervolt 2 Pro, used mainly in these areas.
