A new event was announced at this week’s Nintendo Direct for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet which made Gimmighoul (and its evolution, Gholdengo) shiny. The chances of it appearing, however, are very low, but there is a way that makes it super easy to find and capture it.
Until next July 2 (5:59 PM), Gimmighoul will appear in Teraids from 1 to 5 stars in Pokémon Scarlet & VioletHowever, only 5-star ones will offer a chance to find it shiny. The odds, however, are 1 in 4,000 encounters, as Game Freak didn’t power them up like they usually do with other featured Pokémon.
Until now, Gimmighoul was one of the shiny-locked Pokémon, meaning it couldn’t appear shiny without resorting to hacks.
It didn’t take long for players to find Gimmighoul shiny this way and take advantage of a very well known exploit of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.

How does the Shiny Teraincursions exploit work? Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?
This exploit dates from Pokemon Sword & Shield and it made it so much easier to encounter shiny Pokémon that it has become the easiest (almost effortless) and legal (can be achieved without resorting to hacks or means outside the game) way to get these rare creatures.
Basically, the exploit consists of the player finding a Teraid with a shiny Pokémon in it. This is possible naturally or through a modified Nintendo Switch to find how to “force” the appearance of shiny Pokémon in certain Teraincursion dens.
In case you missed it: all this will include the great DLC of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.
Then the player with the shiny Teraid can invite players, each of whom will be able to capture a copy of the shiny Pokémon, just like in any normal Teraid. The host should then reboot its console and repeat the procedure.
In this way, the host (or automatic Nintendo Switch consoles that are bots) could repeat this Teraid infinitely and allow many players to join and get the featured shiny Pokémon. This is a legal method, since the Pokémon is not altered and the participants could capture it without making alterations to their Nintendo Switch.
For some reason Game Freak has not noticed it or has not found a way to prevent it and it is even believed that the developer has deliberately left it there so that players continue to take advantage of it.
How to get Gimmighoul shiny easily in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?
Well, interested players just need to find a host that is running shiny Teraids. Naturally, there are many communities organizing Gimmighoul shiny Teraids.
For example, the YouTube content creator Blaines it is a player that offers bots with Teraids that work constantly. The only thing that the player has to do is to join his community of discord and keep an eye out for bots, which are constantly changing code to join the Raid.
One detail to take into account is that there are many players who will want to join, so it is possible that the interested player will not succeed if he does not enter the password quickly. Also, when it involves online communication with other users, it is essential to have an active subscription to Nintendo Switch Online.
There are other players hosting Shiny Tera-Raids online via live stream and viewers can join in anyway. An example is the youtuber Larrybudds, whose transmission is live at the time of publishing this note.
Also, it will be possible to obtain shiny Gholdengo if it evolves into a shiny Gimmighoul. Of course, take into account that it will be the Gimmighoul Chest Form.
