From November 7 to 11, 2022, Argentina will host the XV Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbeanthe main regional intergovernmental forum of the United Nations on women’s rights and gender equality, which for 45 years has brought together representatives of governments, international organizations, academia and civil society, in particular movements of women and feminists.
The main theme of the meeting, organized by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in coordination with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), is “The society of care: horizon for a sustainable recovery with gender equality”.
During the meeting, ECLAC will present the position paper The Care Society: A Horizon for a Sustainable Recovery with Gender Equality, and two other reports on the financing of care systems and policies in Latin America and the Caribbean are scheduled to be launched. and on the application of the axis on information systems of the Montevideo Strategy for the Implementation of the Regional Gender Agenda in the Framework of Sustainable Development towards 2030.
