June 24 (Portaltic/EP) –
WhatsApp has implemented in its messaging service a new privacy function that allows you to silence incoming calls from unknown numbers, usually linked to commercial calls or scam attempts.
This function does not appear activated by default, but it is the user himself who must decide if you want to silence calls from unknown numbersand for this you only have to go to the privacy configuration options.
In this section, the user will see that a ‘Calls’ option has been added. When you click on it, a window with a switch will appear. If it is activated, as the company itself explains, calls received from unknown numbers will be silenced, that is, they will not ring
But these kinds of calls yes they will still appear in the calls tab and in notificationsin such a way that the user will be able to know that he has received a call, as a missed callof a number that is not registered in the phonebook.
A similar measure is available in google calling appwhich prevents the user from receiving a call from a number that it detects as possible ‘spam’, although this can be seen later in the list of calls.
on iOSOn the other hand, there is also the option of silence calls from unknown numbers, which are automatically sent to voice mail and are recorded in the recent list.
