There are several ways by which we can bypass TPM protection and install the Windows 11 operating system on any computer. We tell you so you can take advantage of them.
As I’m sure you already know, in order to install Windows 11, Microsoft placed a series of quite strict hardware requirements, such as compatibility with TPM 2.0.
With this measure, old computers are forced to continue with Windows 10, since the new version of the operating system cannot be installed because it does not meet the requirements that the Redmond-based brand has imposed.
But in computing, nothing is so effective that it cannot be modified in some way. This means that there are several ways to prevent requirements such as TPM, RAM or others from prompting the extraction of the new version of Windows.
The best of all is that we have several different ways to carry out this process, which means that each person will do it with the one that is easiest or most effective, since we will have the possibility of modifying the registry in setting medium, create a USB installation disk or use the software called Rufus.
Even Microsoft itself has also created an official registry hack in order to bypass the TPM 2.0 and CPU requirements. What happens is that with this method you must still have, at least, TPM 1.2, which means that, if you do not have this chip, what the American company offers is of no use to you.
Whatever the way we want to ensure that the TPM is not an impediment to being able to install Windows 11you will have it detailed below, so that all the processes are as simple as possible.
Methods to install Windows without TPM:
Using the installation log
If we have a normal installation disk or ISO with Windows 11, we can make the TPM and RAM requirements no longer an impediment.
Something that you must be very clear about is that this system only works on a clean installation.
- We start from your installation disc or from the ISO image of Windows 11.
- We press the keys Shift + F10 to start the command prompt.
- Now, within the registry we must go to the following route: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup
- We create a new registry key in Settings and name it LabConfig. If you don’t know how to generate it, it’s as simple as right-clicking on the right pane of the window and selecting New > Keyto finally put the name.
- Within LabConfig, we generate values DWORD called BypassTPMCheck Y BypassSecureBoot and set their vvalues in 1. The way to create a new DWORD value is by right-clicking in the right window and selecting the new DWORD (32-bit) value, then assigning a name to the key. Then double click to open it and set it to 1.
- If we also want to skip the RAM requirement, we add values DWORD for BypassRAMCheck
- We close Regedit and the command prompt, so that from now on we can continue with your Windows 11 installation normally.
Thanks to Rufus
Rufus It is a free program that allows you to generate a Windows 11 installation disc on a USB flash drive configuring it so that we are no longer prompted for TPM, RAM, and CPU requirements.
The only requirements for using Rufus are that the USB flash drive must be 16GB or larger and being on a USB drive it is more difficult to use to install Windows 11 in a virtual machine where an ISO file would be ideal. .
The steps to follow are the following:
- We download the latest version of Rufus and install it on the computer.
- We insert a 16 GB or more blank USB flash drive and then we open Rufus.
- We select the USB device in which we want to install Windows 11.
- We must make sure that Boot Selection shows “Disk or ISO Image” and we click on Discharge.
- Select Windows 11then Continue, then we choose the latest version and click again on Continue.
- Now we must put The edition and click Continuethen choose language and click again on Continue.
- It’s time to select architecture (normal x64) and click Discharge. We will see how a new window opens asking where to save the ISO image. We save it in the folder downloadsalthough we can also download the image using a browser if we want.
- We make click the Image dropdown menu and we select Extended installation of Windows 11 to disable TPM, Secure Boot and the 8GB RAM requirement.
- We verify again that the correct unit has been selected and then we click on Start to start the installation.
- The writing process can take some time, depending on the USB drive you’re using, but when it’s done, the drive can be removed and used to install Windows 11 on an older computer or even a virtual machine.
- Now we install or upgrade to Windows 11.
We must be clear that we will execute the configuration on the USB drive, if we are performing an installation that is going to update from Windows 10.
While we will boot from the drive if we are going to do a clean install. If we are having problems, it may be because we need to disable secure boot in the BIOS.
From Windows Update
If we prefer to use Windows Update for the installation, we will need a method that executes the update without requiring the TPM as a fundamental requirement of the installation.
We show you how to do it:
- We navigate to the code font Skip_TPM_Check_on_Dynamic_Update.cmd in the AveYo media creation tool Github.
- We click on the button Copy raw content in the upper right corner of the code box.
- We create anew file on desktop and we assign the name skip_tpm_check.cmd
- We must make sure that the file extensions can be seen and that the file extension is really .cmd, otherwise it will not be executed.
- We open skip_tpm.cmd to edit itusing notepad or another text editor.
- We paste the code which we copied from github.
- We save and run the skip_tpm.cmd file.
- We must click on Yes when you request the User account control.
- Now we will see a message that says that it has been installed Bypass TPM in dynamic update. Running the program again will disable the utility.
Windows Update should now be able to update our existing Windows 11 build.
In addition, we can even update it from Windows 10 to 11.
Microsoft Official
Windows also provided a trick to slightly lower the installation requirements of Windows 11, allowing computers with TPM 1.2 to also install the new operating system.
The way to do it is this:
- We open regedit.
- Let’s go to the route: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup
- We create a DWORD (32-bit) called AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU (if it doesn’t exist).
- We set AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU in 1.
- We close Regedit and we restart the PC.
- We should now be able to upgrade to Windows 11 from Windows 10 using installation media.
These are the ways we have to bypass the TPM restriction to be able to install Windows 11 on our computer.
Use the one you see that you feel most comfortable with and you will be able to enjoy the new operating system.
