How "bad reputation" works in Fortnite and what are its benefits

Epic Games has introduced in Fortnite a new “Heat Level” or “Reputation Levels” mechanic. Many still do not understand what it is and how it can affect your performance in Battle Royale games. Let’s see what this novelty means to make your games more bearable and fun.

The first thing you should know is that the more “bad reputation”, the player will be more visible to the enemies. Each level of heat now comes with bonuses: downed opponents drop more gold bars and the player will have a 15% movement speed increase plus health regeneration.

How Heat Level works

Fortnite posted the following on a website:

“In ‘The Most Wanted of Fortnite‘, raiding cameras and eliminating opponents will increase the ‘bad reputation’ level during the game, which is reflected by flame icons on the HUD. If you have a bad reputation, no matter how many, the members of the Coldbloods will become more hostile, and the rest of the players will be able to see them on the minimap. In addition, you will be more visible to the other players in the environment”.

The benefits of “bad reputation” go through four levels.

? Eliminated opponents will drop more bars.

?? Movement speed will be increased by 15% and you will regenerate up to 100 health when not in combat.

??? Movement speed will be increased by 20% and you will regenerate up to 100 health and 50 shield when not in combat.

???? Movement speed will be increased by 25% and you will regenerate up to 100 health and 100 shield when not in combat.
