Hong Kong Customs and Excise Commissioner Louise Ho and Cambodian Customs and Excise Director General Kun Nhem Have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation and Mutual Administrative Assistance.
This is the first Memorandum of Understanding digitally signed by Hong Kong Customs in a virtual meeting with another customs administration.
Hong Kong Customs and Cambodian Customs are sparing no effort to foster greater mutual collaboration amid the COVID-19 pandemic. During the signing ceremony, Ho said that the memorandum symbolizes the common wishes of both sides to enhance bilateral cooperation in different fields.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding paves the way to strengthen the exchange of information to combat cross-border crime. Likewise, the exchange of information is intensified to promote closer ties in the field of trade facilitation and an environment favorable to legitimate commercial activities is created.
China to expand stock connection system between mainland China and Hong Kong
The Hong Kong Customs Service separately concluded a Memorandum of Understanding with the General Directorate of Customs and Indirect Taxes of the Republic of the Congo in August 2022.
Currently, 29 similar cooperation instruments have entered into force between Hong Kong Customs and other customs administrations, including the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China and 28 overseas customs administrations.
