Aimed at the base consumer as a phone with relatively advanced photographic features for its price, the HMD Skyline incorporates a chipset Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 with all-terrain capabilities and a capable camera system, with a stabilized 108-megapixel sensor, a 13-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a stabilized 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 4x zoom, all of which benefit from AI image enhancement. Even the selfie sensor is remarkable, with 50 MP and eye-tracking focus.

Other interesting aspects are the Qi2 wireless charging, high-quality audio recording and the so-called Detox Mode, which turns the mobile into a “dumb phone” to avoid distractions by limiting its functions to the strictly essential (although it is possible to set exceptions for certain apps).
The HMD Skyline’s biggest selling point, however, is its unusual ease of repair. Unlike other phones that claim to be “repairable” and simply allow for easy battery replacement, this smartphone also allows for the display to be replaced using simple tools. Its 6.55-inch pOLED panel is not glued with industrial adhesive but is instead pressed into place using a watertight seal to prevent water from entering, so all you have to do is remove a screw and bend the plastic casing to remove the display.
The battery is also fairly easy to replace, as are things like the charging port (HMD notes that it’s fairly easy to swap out if you bend the connector) and the back cover itself – iFixit will offer official guides and parts to make this kind of operation easier.
Now available in Spain, the prices HMD Skyline retail versions are as follows:
- HMD Skyline 8+128 GB: 499 euros
- HMD Skyline 12+256 GB: 599 euros
