Hezbollah denies being dismantled after Nasrallah’s death and accuses the Lebanese press of siding with Israel

The leadership of the Lebanese Shiite party-militia Hezbollah has denied being dismantled after the death of its leader, Hasan Nasrallah, in an Israeli bombing of Beirut at the end of September, and has taken the opportunity precisely to attack the Lebanese media for adopting the Israel’s speech as part of a “psychological war against the resistance.”

Hezbollah’s communications officer, Muhammad Afif, gave a lengthy speech in which he addressed several issues related to the war against Israel, including the state of the militia, relations with the media and even the situation at hand. political level within Lebanon, where Hezbollah has an influential presence in all spheres.

“Hezbollah is not an organization or even just a resistance, but rather a nation, and nations do not die because their destiny is victory. The resistance is fine, its strategic reserve is fine and there are thousands of martyred fighters at the height of their preparation to defend Lebanon, and they are ready for a fierce fight,” Afif said, according to the Al Manar network, linked to the group.

In his analysis of the Lebanese media, Afif has valued those “firm professionals” who report from the south of the country on “the crimes of the enemy.” Thus, although he has criticized the Israeli side for carrying out a “written censorship” of what happened, he has accused part of the Lebanese press of “publishing the news of the Israeli enemy as part of a psychological war against the resistance, its people and its allies.”

ISRAELI ATTACK ON ‘BLUE HELMETS’

Another of the issues on which the Hezbollah representative has spoken is the new Israeli attack against ‘blue helmets’ of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). In the last two days, four members of the international forces – two Indonesians and two Sri Lankans – have been injured in two separate incidents at the same base.

“The aggression against the United Nations forces in the south is a condemnable act, but we wonder about the behavior of the United Nations and the international community in the face of this dangerous behavior,” said Afif, thus calling for a stronger response from the international community.

“Force and resistance are what deter the enemy from committing crimes, not international resolutions,” stated Afif, who also condemns the continuous Israeli attacks in the south of the country and in the Lebanese capital itself, Beirut, “a continuation of the crimes of the Israeli occupation”.

Thus, Afif has asserted that Hezbollah’s attacks against Israel “are only the beginning”: “I tell the enemy that he has still seen very little.” “Our fighters are ready for a fierce fight to avenge the blood of their most precious martyr,” he added, alluding to Nasrallah, and noted that “the enemy is helpless.”

“Do not worry and do not weaken your morale when you see scenes of the enemy inside the villages. Do not worry about these enemy scenes, because the resistance has a prior decision to adopt a flexible defense that is compatible with the requirements on the front” , Afif has riveted.

THE SITUATION IS NOT LIKE 1982

Finally, Afif highlighted that the international press has echoed in recent weeks an alleged paradigm shift in Lebanese politics due to Hezbollah’s failures. “There is a lot of talk about a policy reversal, but don’t rush it or burn your fingers, or you will never have learned from the lessons of the past,” he said.

“We are not in the year 1982, when Israeli tanks arrived in Beirut and changed the political equations and destroyed the Lebanese social fabric. Rather, we are as if we were in the early days of the July war (the 2006 conflict), when people rushed to make final judgments about Hezbollah’s defeat ahead of time,” he said.

Thus, Afif has launched a final plea directed towards the Lebanese population, urging them to continue supporting Hezbollah. “Always remember that the Israeli never works for you, but only works for his own interests,” he stressed.
