MADRID 6 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Lebanese Shiite militia party Hezbollah has claimed responsibility this Wednesday for an attack against the Belo military base, located south of the city of Tel Aviv and belonging to the reserve parachute brigade of the 98th Division of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). ).

According to the Islamist group, this is the first time that it has managed to attack this infrastructure within the framework of the offensive unleashed against Israel more than a year ago in solidarity with the Palestinian cause after the attacks of October 7 and the Israeli response.

Later, Hezbollah reported another attack against an Israeli Army Navy naval base in Haifa. The facilities house a fleet of missile boats and submarines, according to the Lebanese channel Al Manar, related to the Islamist group.

Likewise, the militia has reported that it has fired rockets and projectiles at two groups of Israeli soldiers in southern Lebanon, where the Israeli Army launched a ground incursion in early October as part of its offensive against Hezbollah.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas launched a large-scale offensive against Israeli territory that left almost 1,200 dead and 240 hostages and provoked the response of the IDF, which began a bloody military offensive in Gaza that claimed more than 43,000 lives.

The day after the Hamas attacks, Hezbollah began launching missiles against northern Israel, causing several deaths and thousands of displaced people. Israel redoubled its offensive against the Lebanese group in September and has managed to dismantle its leadership.
