Herzog thanks the US for its "open and hidden collaboration" in the attack on Iran

MADRID 26 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of Iran, Isaac Herzog, thanked the United States this Saturday for its “open and hidden collaboration” in last night’s air attack against military targets in Iran in which at least four soldiers were killed, bombings that are in retaliation for the Iranian missile attack on October 1.

“Special thanks also to our great friend, the United States, for a true alliance and for its open and hidden collaboration,” Herzog said in a message published on his account on the social network X.

The message also includes Herzog’s congratulations to “squadrons, pilots and technical personnel of the Air Force.” It also mentions those responsible for intelligence, the commanders, those responsible for the security system, the political class, including the Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the Minister of Defense, Yoav Gallant, the Government and “all those who have participated in this important operation”.

“The demonstrated capacity and the objectives achieved are very important to guarantee the security of the State of Israel and protect its citizens,” he noted.

At least four Iranian soldiers have died in the air attack carried out this past morning by the Israeli Army against these positions; a bombing that Israel has framed as a response to Iranian air attacks launched against the country, the last of which occurred on October 1.

The attack has been confirmed by the Iranian Air Force, which has reported attacks against military radars in three provinces of the country: Tehran, Khuzestan and Ilam. The Iranian Army assures that air defenses have managed to “successfully repel” the attack, although “there is limited damage in some places.” Furthermore, they maintain that they have prevented Israeli fighter jets from entering their airspace.
