The Last of Us will debut very soon. Starting today, the ad-free monthly plan will cost $15.99 USD, which is an increase of $1 USD compared to the previous price. The subscription service hasn’t seen a hike since May 2020, when it debuted with a monthly fee of $14.99 USD. This change will be reflected until February for users who are already subscribed and have just renewed their plan. On the other hand, the subscription with commercials will continue to cost $9.99 USD.

Will HBO Max cost more in Mexico?
The good news is that so far it is known that this increase will only take effect in the United States. That being said, the minimum monthly fee for users in Mexico (for portable devices) will continue to be $99 MXN and the standard will continue to be priced at $149 MXN.
However, according to the official statement issued by Warner Bros. Discovery (via The Hollywood Reporter), the increase will be beneficial to all users.

“This $1 price increase will allow us to continue to invest in delivering even more culture-defining programming and improving our consumer experience for all of our users,” the company said.
It is striking that this change is made days before one of the most ambitious series on the service is released, The Last of Usbut also after the removal of very popular series such as Westworld Y The Nerves.
