Hamas leader congratulates Houthis for their attack on Sunday near Tel Aviv

September 16 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Yahya Sinwar, congratulated Houthi leader Abdulmalik Badradín al Huti on Monday after several fragments of a missile launched from Yemen fell near Tel Aviv on Sunday, injuring a dozen people.

“I congratulate you on the arrival of your missiles deep into the Zionist entity, bypassing the defence systems,” the head of Hamas wrote in a letter to his ally in the Middle East, according to Al Jazeera.

Sinwar stressed that the Houthi attacks had dealt a “serious blow” to Israel’s aspirations over Palestine and the rest of the region and thanked the Houthis for their “sincere affection” and “strong will” on the battlefield.

The day before, Israeli defence systems shot down a missile launched from Yemen, although shrapnel left at least nine people injured and caused significant damage in the town of Modiin, near Tel Aviv.

The Houthis celebrated that the missile managed to travel more than 2,000 kilometers in just eleven minutes, causing “panic and fear” among “more than two million Zionists” who “ran to seek shelter in the bunkers.”

This is the third message Sinwar has sent to al-Houthi since he took over leadership of the Palestinian militia in early August. The latest comes shortly after Yemeni rebels reported shooting down a US missile as it flew over the western province of Dhamar.

The Houthis, who control the most populated areas of Yemen, have launched attacks against Israeli territory and ships with some kind of connection to Israel in response to the military offensive on the Gaza Strip, which has already left more than 41,200 dead since October 7.
