The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on Tuesday condemned the “brutal attack” by the Israeli army against a headquarters of the Shiite militia party Hezbollah located in the south of the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
The Palestinian militia has described this action by the Israeli army as a “dangerous escalation” and has indicated that Israel “bears full responsibility” for possible repercussions, according to the newspaper ‘Filistin’, which is close to Hamas.
Similarly, Hamas has held the Biden administration responsible for the crimes and violations” perpetrated by Israel due to its “political and military support” as this tempts “the occupation to commit more madness that threatens peace and security throughout the Middle East.”
The Israeli strike targeted a residential building located in an area close to a hospital in the Haret Hreik neighborhood in southern Beirut. The target is believed to be Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr, a senior adviser to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
