The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has called this Tuesday for “global solidarity” with the Palestinian people on the occasion of the Christmas holidays and has asked that the celebrations be translated into a “movement against Israel’s genocidal war.” in the Gaza Strip.

“Let us make these celebrations a global occasion to continue demonstrating and protesting in every possible way against Israel’s aggression,” the Palestinian armed group said in a statement.

Thus, he has highlighted the role played by Palestinian journalists and has assured that Israel “will not succeed” in its efforts to “silence their voice”, which is why he has asked for greater protection for information professionals who risk their lives on the terrain.

“We want to thank the journalists for showing an image of heroism and strength, for denouncing the crimes of the operation and its violent plans. (…) The Zionist aggression continues in Gaza and our people continue to resist the genocide, the hunger and forced displacement,” he points out.

In this sense, he regretted that at least 201 journalists have died “when trying to reveal the truth of the crimes committed against the Palestinian people in Gaza”, according to the Palestinian newspaper ‘Filastin’, which is related to the group.

Hamas has taken the opportunity to call on humanitarian organizations to continue their work condemning the “crimes committed against Palestinian journalists” and bringing the perpetrators “to justice.” “We ask all media to adhere to the values ​​of objectivity, honesty and integrity, in addition to committing to the truth of what is happening in Gaza,” he said.

More than 45,540 people have died in the Gaza Strip due to the military offensive launched by Israel in response to the attacks of October 7, 2023, according to the latest balance from the Gaza Ministry of Health.
