Who is Erling Haaland?

Erlin Braut Haaland is the center forward for Manchester City. On July 21, he will turn 23 years old and last season he was the player who scored the most goals in all competitions, with a total of 56 goals between his club and the national team.

In his first season in the English Premier League, the footballer scored 36 goals in 33 games, a figure with which he broke the record of 34 goals during the 93-94 season, a year in which the tournament had 42 days.

Although he was born in Leeds, England, as his father (also a footballer) played for the team from that city, Haaland defends the colors of the Norwegian team, a team with which he scored nine goals in a single match against Honduras in the U20 World Cup. .

How much is Haaland worth?

He made his debut at Bryne FK, a Norwegian third division team that he joined in 2006 through the youth categories, where he stayed until 2015. Although he is now one of the top scorers in the world, at that time he also played as a winger, due to his speed.

At the age of 16, he was sold to the first division team, Molde, for 100,000 euros. In this club he spent the 2016/2017 season and began to stand out so much that he was sold to RB Salzburg, from Austria, for eight million euros.

He was then sold to Borussia Dortmund, of the German Bundesliga, for 20 million euros, where he established himself as one of the most effective forwards in the world, to the point of competing with Robert Lewandowski, Bayern Munich’s top scorer at the time.

Finally, Dortmund sold it to Manchester City in 2022 for 60 million euros, a club in which he has already won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Champions League in his first season. Currently, his value is 180 million euros, according to the Transfermarkt portal.

As well as being a disciplined footballer from a very young age and having a physique that allowed him to play alongside his older teammates in the youth ranks at Bryne FK, his talent made him stand out from the rest of the footballers.

“He understood, from a very young age, the movements he had to make: he knew where to run, where to place the ball and he was strong in his head, with an incredible winning mentality,” said his first coach, Alf Ingve Berntsen.
