The Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres, has “strongly” condemned the attack carried out on Saturday by the Russian Army against a residential building in the city of Dnipro, in eastern Ukraine, which has left 40 dead so far.
Guterres’ deputy spokesperson Stephanie Tremblay has stressed that “attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure violate international humanitarian law.” “They must finish immediately”, she has settled her.
Likewise, Tremblay has indicated that the Secretary General has conveyed “his deepest condolences to the families of the victims of the Dnipro attack and wishes a speedy recovery to the injured,” according to a statement.
The Ukrainian authorities reported on Monday that 40 people have already died, including three children, due to the Russian attack carried out over the weekend.
In addition, there would be 75 injured people, 14 of them minors; while there would be more than thirty missing persons. The emergency services, in turn, have managed to rescue nearly 40 people, including six minors.
Ukraine’s Prime Minister Denis Shmigal reported on Sunday that the previous day Ukraine had been the target of more than 30 missiles launched by the Russian Armed Forces, 20 of which managed to be shot down by defense systems.
