At EVO 2022, an announcement that caught the attention of fans of Guilty Gear is that not only was the first DLC character confirmed Season Pass 2 of Guilty Gear -Strive-, Bridget, but is also revealed to be a transgender woman. This was celebrated by many, but there were those who did not receive this in a positive way. In fact, there is one who refuses to believe it so much that she is even misinforming the fans apparently to see if this way the official information is discredited and the character becomes a cisgender woman.
The confirmation by the developer, distributor and owner of Guilty Gear, Arc System Works, has been clear within the game: Bridget is a transgender woman; she said another way, she is a person who was born as a man, but who identifies as a woman, so she reflects it in her appearance.

Transphobic fan misrepresents Bridget’s gender Guilty Gear
Within the community of gamers Guilty Gear there are unfortunately transphobic fans who did not accept these statements that revealed Bridget’s true identity. Such is the case of one that took her disagreement with Arc System Works to another level.
We say this because recently said fan posed as an official member of Arc System Works and even concocted an elaborate hoax to spread the word that it was a joke and that Bridget was not actually transgender with the intent to misinform or perhaps in the hope that this will revoke the official information and that the idea that Bridget is a cisgender woman (a woman who was born with this gender and identifies with it) will endure in the collective consciousness.
The project obviously seemed almost impossible, but this is how this fan carried it out, although it is not known if as a joke or with transphobic intentions. What was confirmed is that said user sent emails to other players as if it were something official by Arc System Works, as exposed by the Twitter user JohnXuandouso the company had to come out to clarify the situation and distance itself from this.

“Our customer service is aware that someone has been impersonating them and fabricating images to look like official responses. ASW [Arc System Works] will not answer individual questions related to content that is not posted within the game or on our website,” Arc System Works said.
The company does not directly mention the cause of all this, which is why there were fans who asked that it confirm clearly, openly and as explicitly as possible once and for all that Bridget is a transgender woman. However, it is not necessary, since the same company answers it in its comment. Simply play Bridget’s DLC content on Guilty Gear -Strive- to realize that it is a transgender woman.
