Beyond the partisan battle at a state level that has monopolized the electoral campaign of the European elections in recent weeks, the parties have presented – the PP left it for the final stretch – their electoral programs, which in some cases are a kind of ‘letter to the wise men’ taking into account that the European Parliament does not have the capacity to initiate legislation, but rather regulates based on the proposals of the European Commission, and that the powers of the EU are limited.
All Spanish parties have pro-European approaches, except for Vox, which includes among its first proposals that national law takes precedence over European law, contrary to what the founding rules of the EU establish. The PP takes all its national problems to Europe, from RTVE to the CIS. The first of its 80 proposals is to involve the European institutions in the fight against the amnesty.
