BARCELONA 24 Oct. () –
Grifols has received approval from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its short-term emissions reduction goals, it reported in a statement this Thursday.
The objectives cover essentially all of Grifols’ greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions derived from direct and indirect activities.
They include scope 1 and 2 emissions, which Grifols has committed to reducing by 42% in 2030 compared to 2022, and scope 3, which the company plans to reduce by 25%.
Grifols Chief Industrial Services Officer, Daniel Fleta, explained that the validation of the emissions reduction objectives “demonstrates Grifols’ firm commitment to adopting specific and quantifiable measures” to source more sustainably.
SBTi is a corporate climate action organization that develops standards, tools and guidance that enable companies to set GHG emissions reduction targets.
