The climate crisis is a matter of life and death for countless people. We choose to physically stop fossil fuel infrastructure. We are reclaiming the future,” wrote the young woman.

The news comes ten days after the young activist announced that abandoned the protests. Number 251, she has written on Twitter, has been her last “school strike for climate”. The reason? She just graduated from high school. The 20-year-old activist has published two photos on her profile on this social network with the usual banner of her and a group of young people.

In a following message, he clarified that he was going to continue protesting, under another name:” It can no longer be called a school strike. We simply have no choice but to do everything we can. The fight has only just begun.”

This girl from Stockholm was made known worldwide for its demonstrations since September 2018, with only 15 years. The environmentalist stood every week in front of the Swedish Parliament to demand firm action against climate change. Her action consisted of sitting in front of the institution with a handmade banner that read: “School strike for the climate.” Her father watched her from afar.

Thundberg’s initiative spread as his fame grew. In just over a year, managed to gather four million people in the largest climate protest in history, on September 20, 2019. And his movement gave rise to Fridays For Future, an international platform with delegations in different countries.

“When I started to go on strike in 2018, I never could have hoped it would lead to something. After going on strike every day for three weeks, we were a small group of kids who decided to keep doing this every Friday. And we did, which is how Fridays For Future was formed,” Thunberg explained.
