Greece has suffered 200 fires in three days and is preparing for another heat wave

Prime Minister Mitsotakis promises that the aid system for the reconstruction of homes affected by fire will be more agile than in the past.

In Greece, this Thursday one of the two large forest fires on the outskirts of Athens has been revived, which seemed contained the night before. The situation has forced the evacuation of populations in the northeast of the capital.

Some 200 fires have broken out in the last three days, according to civil protection.

Prime Minister Kiriakos Mitsotakis has assured that the aid for the reconstruction of the affected properties will be much more agile than in the past.

Another heat wave is expected in the coming days, with temperatures around 44 degrees.

Archaeological sites will close during the hottest hours.
