( Spanish) – The authorities from the state of Guerrero, in Mexicoasked this Thursday the citizens of Tecpán de Galeana to “stay calm” in the face of reports of violent events recorded in the municipality of more than 65,000 inhabitants. The Government also said in a statement that the state prosecutor’s office had reinforced security measures in “various municipalities” in the region known as Costa Grande, located in southeastern Mexico.
Among the alleged acts of violence there are reports of clashes between elements of the security forces and armed civilians, as well as blockades on some of the state’s roads, according to a report by local media El Sur de Guerrero.

Salgado said that he had instructed the authorities to “reinforce security to safeguard the integrity of the population,” but did not give further details of the situation.
