July 22 (Portaltic/EP) –
The arrival of the ‘Data security’ panel to the information about the applications in Play Store replaced the ‘Permissions’ sectionbut now Google assures that it will recover it after the negative criticism for its withdrawal.
The ‘Permissions’ section disappeared from the information of the applications that had already incorporated the new panel ‘Data security’thus eliminating a list of the requirements that an application needs to operate on a device, such as access to the camera or the contact list.
The change did not entirely convince Android users, who found it “Useful”, and for this reason Google has decided incorporate it again “soon” in the information of the ‘apps’, as stated in a shared statement On twitter from the Android Developers profile.
“The Data Security section gives users a simplified view of how an app collects, shares, and protects user data, but we also want the app’s permission information to be easily visible to users.” understand an application’s ability to access restricted data and actions specific as well,” he explains.
Privacy and transparency are core values in the Android community. We heard your feedback that you find the app permissions section in Google Play useful, and we’ve decided to reinstate it. The app permissions section will be back shortly.
