Google has announced the arrival of Android of the beta version of Privacy Sandboxits digital advertising proposal that is respectful of user data, so that developers can test and evaluate it in real conditions.
The Privacy Sandbox for Android beta will roll out gradually, starting with a selection of devices running Android 13, that they will be able to access the test once they have been notified through the operating system.
The company seeks with this beta that both users and developers can test and evaluate in real conditions the solutions with which it seeks to offer a balance between respect for user data and digital advertising.
From Google they affirm that this beta incorporates new application programming interfaces (API) that do not use identifiers capable of tracking user activity in the applications and websites they visit, as stated in the statement sent to Europa Press.
Developers will be able to use these APIs to show relevant ads to users and measure their effectiveness, while users will be able to measure their participation from the Privacy Sandbox settings.
The settings section gathers a number of topics that can be used by different applications to display advertising, such as ‘dining out’ or ‘fashion’which the user can block if they are not of interest.
“It is essential that digital advertising evolves towards greater respect for the privacy of users if we want the mobile ecosystem continues to develop in the future”, defends the technology company.
