Nov. 10 (Portaltic/EP) –
Google has announced the start of processing refunds for the users of its gaming platform in ‘streaming’ stadia, which will close in January of next year.
The technology company has begun this Wednesday to process the refunds of all game purchases, add-ons and subscription fees made through the Stadia Store, the amount of which will be returned in the form of payment used by the user to complete the purchase.
This process is automatic, and the company will notify you individually for each refund made by email, unless returns exceed 21 items, in which case it will send an ’email’ with a summary of all refund attempts and instructions to complete them, as explained on the page of Stadia Help.
Out of this process is Stadia Pro subscription. This is due to the fact that the company will not reimburse charges made prior to September 29, the day on which the closure of the streaming game service was announced. Yes, they will refund the amount to those who made the payment on the same day, September 29, or at a later date.
In regards to the ‘hardware‘, Google has confirmed that is working on the refund process for purchases made through the Google Store, from teams like the Stadia Controller, Founder’s Edition, Premiere Edition, and Play & Watch with Google TV bundles. And it will also refund all in-game currencies that have been purchased from the Stadia Store.
The company has noted that they expect to have made the majority of the refunds by January 18. On that date, Stadia will close, a decision made after seeing that this service did not achieve the number of users and the “expected traction” by Google.
