Google Play Store will ask users about their topics of interest to recommend apps and games

July 22 (Portaltic/EP) –

Google will ask users what they are interested in in order to fine-tune the app and game recommendation algorithm on the Play Store and offer more personalized results.

App discovery helps developers promote their software and helps users access a new app or game. But getting it right isn’t easy, which is why Google seems to be taking a new approach.

According to the specialized portal Android AuthorityGoogle will ask users directly about their topics of interest within the Play Store. To do this, it will offer a series of categories, from which the user can choose, and then see the results it offers “based on their interests.”

This new feature is accompanied by a new ‘Interests’ section in the settings menu, with separate options for games and applications that users must activate if they want to participate in this form of recommendation, as seen by the aforementioned portal in version 41.7.16-31 of the Play Store app.
