The Android 14 Beta can now be used on compatible Google Pixels, but it seems that there are problems with the Google Messages application that is preventing its users from using it, with all that this entails. Apparently, there are several problems combining into one, Well, while Android light theme users can’t even open the app, dark theme users can, but with severe limitations.
For example, with the dark themethe application only displays black garbled text and closes, while, with the theme clear, the application does not load anything, or in the worst case, it does not even open, somewhat problematic as it is the default Android messaging application.
The version of Google Messages that suffers from these issues is version 20230428_01_RC00, So, if we have this version, which comes with Android 14 Beta 1.1, it is most likely that we will not be able to use it. We can always try to install a previous version, removing the updates, but this can cause other problems derived from incompatibilities.
This is the reason why it is always recommended to have a device dedicated to this type of testing or, in any case, do not be totally critical in our day to day.
