Google launches biometric lock for incognito tabs in Chrome for Android

Already at the end of 2022 we were talking about how Google was considering launching a biometric locking system for incognito tabs in Chrome for Androidsomething that would come in the form of a requirement to enter our fingerprint or face in the system to have access to these tabs in the same way that we do it to unlock the terminal.

Now, as we read in PhoneArena, finally it has been possible to see how the company has launched this feature so that all Android users can make use of it, in the same way that it happens in iOS when we want to do the same. In the case of Android, as is knownmost cases will be in the form of touching the fingerprint sensor, but each terminal is different.

To activate this function, we will have to make sure that Chrome is up to date. Once this is done, We will open the application, we will go to settings, privacy and security, and we will activate the option to block incognito tabs when we close Chrome.

Undoubtedly, this is an interesting security featureespecially when by default we have a Chrome notification that warns us that we have incognito tabs open if we close the browser, and that anyone who has access to the terminal can see.
