Google has presented a novelty with which it seeks to combat fragmentation in the Android mobile phone ecosystem and ensure that all applications work consistently regardless of device brand.
The compatibility test suite (CTS, for its acronym in English) is a tool that the technology company has made available to manufacturers to check for incompatibilities that may arise in Android devices during their development.
This tool now has a new module, CTS-D, aimed at application developerswhich also offers a wide set of tests to check the compatibility of your developments on different devices.
With CTS-D, Google aims to “help device manufacturers and application developers identify and share problems more effectively“, as it collects it’s a statement.
The problem of compatibility within the Android ecosystem is not new. The developers of Urbandroid, responsible for the Sleep as Android application, have created a list with manufacturers and applications in which they collect the operation of the latest ones in the different mobile devices, which they collect under the name of ‘Don’t Kill my App’ , and that have been accompanied by a new application behavior test, as reported in AndroidPolice.
